Cancer Of The Testes
!!**!!
What
differentiates the male from the female is the reproductive organ. Men
have a testes and a pair of testicles which produces sperm and
testosterone. When the person engages in sexual intercourse with a
member of the opposite sex, the sperm and egg cells combine thus
produces a baby.
There is a prevailing threat that men may face which could
affect the chances of ever having a baby. Though this is rare, the
person can be a victim. This problem is known as testicular cancer.
Testicular cancer happens when there is a rapid growth of
cancerous cells in the testicle. This disease which is also
known as Seminoma happens in men between the ages of 15 and 35. Though
this isn't as widespread compared to lung or prostate cancer, it occurs
more often to Caucasians than men of other ethnic groups.
Though doctors have not yet been able to determine the cause
of this disease, some research has revealed certain things that may
attribute to it. This could be the medical history of the patient,
Klinefelter's syndrome, abnormal testicular development and HIV. !**!! Download
Ultimate Cancer Breakthroughs Now!
Testicular cancer if detected early is curable. Some of the
symptoms that the person should be aware of are; pain or hardness in
the testicle, ache in the groin or lower abdomen or any change in the
way the testicle feels. It has been reported in some cases that
tenderness in the breast may also be a symptom of this disease.
Should the person experience any of the symptoms, it does not
necessarily mean that the person has cancer in the testicles.
It is just a possibility or be nothing at all. To be sure, it is
advisable to visit the doctor should it be happening for more than 2
weeks to really know what is going on.
Some people only visit the doctor when there is pain felt in
any part of the body. Since there is a higher chance of recovering from
this disease if it is diagnosed early, the best thing to do at home is
a personalized exam.
This exam should be done after taking a hot shower and then
feeling the scrotum for any lumps. If there are, having it examined by
the doctor will determine if there is any cause for alarm.
The first thing that is done in the clinic is a physical exam
just like the one done at home. Should further tests be needed, an
ultrasound, a CT scan or an MRI may be needed to be sure if the patient
has this disease.
Testicular cancer can be treated in a number of ways. The
first is through surgery. This means taking it out before it spreads
any further. Studies have shown that the removal of the affected
testicle will not affect the ability of the person to have children.
Another way of treating this disease is through radiation
therapy. This painless procedure will only take a few minutes and is
used only in the affected area.
Should this problem spread to other parts of the body or not
all the cancer cells were eliminated, then it is time that chemotherapy
is introduced.
Testicular cancer is a problem that a male at a young age may
face. By doing a self- examination monthly at home, this can really
improve the chances of detecting it in its early stages.
